Human touch made visible
Grasp Sense is a patent pending method for measuring how humans interact with objects. It was invented in the University of Helsinki, Finland, and has several potential applications; the most interesting ones identified so far lie in the fields of robotics, usability, and design.
A human touch leaves behind a warm spot. Take a thermal camera picture of that spot, add a 3D model of the touched object, and mix in a conventional RGB picture of the object – these are the ingredients of the Grasp Sense method.
